Customer Reviews
Edit: An invoice was canceled and there was an apology for the unprofessional behavior of their technicians. I engaged SJK on behalf of my parents based on Google reviews and found they didn't live up to the expectation. Three services were engaged. The main disappointment is with the air conditioning service. I asked for a Ducted AC Service. They came out and we mentioned the Air Touch controller had an error 40 on it. They turned the unit off and on, said the controllers were out of sync and that was job done. They'd barely driven away after a $275 an hour charge and error 40 came back. My parents had been turning the unit off and on again for sometime prior to this call out. We called and they came back and the technicians actually got into the ceiling this time to look at the main air touch controller. They spent some time, didn't really sound like they knew what they were doing and my mother said they were swearing at times which we do although not professional as a contractor. They said they needed to research the problem further then the admin lady called and said they needed a controller at $550. My mum asked if it would fix the problem and they said they couldn't guarantee it. We declined any further work and lodged a complaint. There was an apology from the admin lady although we asked to speak to a manager although management would not speak with us. We said we were only prepared to pay one invoice for the AC side if things and it appeared to be agreed as no work was really carried out during their first visit. We got a second invoice although will dispute it. For $275 alone I would have expected the indoor and outdoor coils cleaned, filters cleaned, air on and off temperatures taken as well as compressor current draw. I feel this review is long enough although the heat pump hot water service and solar service were slightly better although below average in my opinion.
Vinny and Liam installed new fans and downlights for us - couldn't have asked for a better experience. These gents are hardworking, considerate, and terrific communicators. These two work really well together and Vinny is outstanding at keeping me updated on progress and including me on important decisions. I hope to get them back for our next job.
SJK Collective came and uninstalled and decommissioned an old gas cooktop and replaced it with an induction cooktop - this required a gasman/plumber and an electrician to coordinate. Also, knowing nothing about induction cooktops I got them to install one they recommended. All happened smoothly on one day. Very happy with the service.
Excellent service. They turned up on time and did a great job replacing a single pendant light in a bit of an awkward position above a staircase. I’d happily recommend SJK Collective.
Above and Beyond! I recently had a technician from SJK Collective attend my home to service and deep clean our five split air conditioning systems. One of the units in the rumpus room had been blowing hot air, and the technician identified that both the PCB and the compressor had failed. He walked me through the situation clearly and helped me understand the best way forward — including the pros and cons of repairing versus replacing the unit. Given the age of the system, he explained that installing a new unit with full warranty coverage would be the most reliable long-term solution. What really impressed me was his honesty and professionalism. After inspecting the systems, he explained that they actually weren't dirty enough to justify a deep clean, so he carried out basic cleans instead — and only for four units rather than the five I had booked. It’s rare to find tradespeople who are upfront and fair with their pricing, and his integrity really stood out. He also treated my elderly mum with such respect and care, which meant a lot to us. I couldn’t recommend SJK Collective highly enough. Honest, knowledgeable, and truly customer-focused — a breath of fresh air in the trades industry.
