Customer Reviews
Firstly, I’d like to clarify and say that I reached out to Pav to get this issue resolved but unfortunately they have not responded to my request to resolve this. So the plumber I usually use was unavailable. Out of desperation I turned to Google and chose Pav based on the extensive reviews. They came out same day, which was awesome, and said that they’d charge a $99 call out but that it would be deducted if work was accepted and done, which is fair enough. However, the problem we had, which we identified ourselves, was that the inlet flush valve had given up the ghost and needed replacing. We knew this because after flushing, the water wouldn't stop flowing once it reached the refill point. I just wanna preface this by saying that we are by no means handy in any way shape or form. Hence calling a plumber for this because we weren’t sure, but YouTube told me that this was the likely scenario. Anyway, the Rep that was sent out had a very quick look (the top of the cistern was off already because we’d resorted to turning the tap on and off to refill manually) and said that the entire internal system needed replacing at a total of $1,500 and three hours work. Our toilet didn’t cost that much to install, and it’s kinda a fancy toilet - not gold plated or anything, but nice enough. Anyway, we asked how much it would be to replace just the inlet, and the quote was a touch under $1,000 and they’d need to order a part. So that’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands. I pulled out the inlet valve with my hands (no tools required) which took around 15-25 seconds. Did a Google image search and found the part at Sydney Tap and Bathroomware in Mascot (who are a absolutely delightful BTW) for $136 and are only 10mins by car from my home. Picked up the part, retuned home and installed it in about 3-5 seconds. Again, by hand with no tools, no knowledge of plumbing or having any sort of trade skills whatsoever. The toilet now is running perfectly. So the whole process, including driving to get the part, took under 45 minutes and a total of $136 plus petrol. My advice to you would be to get a second opinion. I wanted to post this review because I find it hard to believe that I am one of the very few that have had a negative experience with this company due to their very high rating which I had fully relied on to choose their services.
Came out to fix a leaking tap and wanted to charge $880 for a $18 part from Bunnings. He even had the list price on their web page to try and justify the cost. I don't mind paying a few extra bucks but this is over the top. So paid his $99 call out since orders the mixer for $70. And yes I was a customer
Jack and Tom turned up 15 minutes early then proceeded to smash the job in no time at all. v pro, v tidy and very good, I recommend these plumbers to anyone who wants a pro. They also brought the dog a bone.
