I had my Rheem hot water system go out (leak beyond repair), in the middle of the night two mights ago. I have unfortunately been going through some life altering medical treatments and was unable to do even the basics to get out ther we and even try and turn it off, make it safe. I looked through the local plumbers and was immediately drawn to the website for lucas plumbing and gas solutions. Incredibly easy to follow website, clear that i could call 24/7 and when i spoke with Louise on the phone at about midnight, she couldn't have been more helpful and nice. I mentioned the urgency required surrounding my medical/health needs and the need to get hot water asap and the ridiculously high level of customer service started immediately , I was blown away by helpful Louise was on the phone at such a late hr of the night. This level of customer service did not drop for one second throughout my whole dealings with all employees of Lucas Plumbing. Next morning, Adam from Lucas Plumbing arrived, even earlier than promised, and got to work immediately on a quote and was able to provide full information and answer's on every question I had. Adam recognised my medical frailty and seemed to go the extra mile, making call after call to all sorts of suppliers and other avenues and businesses, to reduce the price down to a level that became life changing in a good way. I will not mention pricing any further, other than to say, I've never seen a business work so hard to reduce every cost they could to help a customer in real need. Adam was simply the most pleasant, capable, talented tradie I've ever had come to my home and perform work in and at an unbelievablel standard, and all done inside the time frame quoted. Finally, the little after market things like clean up, collection of the old heater, the cleaning up of the workspace ( its cleaner now than when he started, to even completely organising the electrician to attend the next day and install a PowerPoint next to the new unit, Adam sorted everything, leaving we with just papers to sigh and that's it. I would like to thank Louise and Adam and everyone at Lucas Plumbing that helped at my family and I. I can not recommend this company highly eneough and would say to anyone looking to get some gas, plumbing work done, look absolutely no further, these are your guys. Thanks once again Adam and Louise
My wife had received a recommendation to ask for Adam from Lucas Plumbing to look at our old evap unit that was blowing warm air only. Adam arrived on time, and performed due diligence to accurately diagnose the problem with the system. As part of the diagnosis he was able to get the unit cooling for us so it was usable until new parts arrived(or as long as it remained functional given the solenoid issue) which was a bonus for us. Highly recommend Adam and Lucas Plumbing for their technical ability and customer service. Look forward to having Adam come back and fit the new part. 🤗
Today was the first time I met Adam. He replaced a tap in the laundry, was professional, with excellent communication skills and did a great job. I will definitely call him when I need any more plumbing jobs done and I highly recommend him to anyone else needing a plumber.
Acting On behalf of Lucas Plumbing, Josh attended my home to swap the gas hot plate in the kitchen. He arrived at 8 am to begin the changeover, however, it was soon apparent that there would be problems, he detected a gas leak. From that point until he left my house at 5.30 pm, he worked tirelessly to correct the leak before he could complete the initial job. An apprentice did lend a hand for a short time, but it was Josh’s work effort that was so much appreciated. I believe he is a credit to the company he represents.
I contacted this company in October 2025 regarding converting a granny flat at my property in Elizabeth Park. At the time, I spoke with a representative who advised they would attend the property to provide a quotation. Based on that conversation, I proceeded to obtain all required permits so the project could move forward. In January 2026, I re-contacted them with all the details to arrange the quotation. From that point onward, communication completely broke down. They delayed for over three weeks, never attended the site, failed to respond to follow-up emails, and did not answer phone calls. It felt as though the business had simply disappeared. This level of service is extremely unprofessional. If a company is willing to ghost a potential customer before a quotation is even provided, it raises serious concerns about how they would behave after receiving a deposit or commencing work. What made this more frustrating is that they initially promised quick turnaround times, assured me they could quote within days, and suggested the job could commence within the same month. None of this eventuated. I was fully prepared to pay their quotation fee and proceed, but the complete lack of follow-up made that impossible. I own and operate a real estate agency myself and have never encountered such poor communication or disregard for a client. I would not recommend this business and will be warning others in the community to exercise caution. Updated reply to Lucas on 7/2/2026: 1) Nothing is misleading. 2) "During this conversation, it became apparent that your intention was to lease both converted sheds as separate habitable dwellings, resulting in three tenancies, despite council approvals not permitting this arrangement."---this is untrue. I got ALL council approval, all the required permits and drawing by draftsperson to start the project straight away, all of which were EMAILED to you in January 2026. You didn't check because you're not a responsible business. 3) "We have since been advised that you no longer require our services and have engaged other trades to proceed with your project." ---I haven't advised that. This project still hasn't been assigned as I haven't got any quotation yet, especially none from you. This is a statement made up by to to cover up why you're not answering calls or replying to emails. IF I NO LONGER NEED YOUR SERVICE, WHY DID I KEEP CALLING YOU? DOES YOUR LIE EVEN MAKE SENSE? I have the email record and phone records of how many times I called you. This lie doesn't make sense. 4) You said you can't find a time with all the parties to inspect. However, I have called many times to communicate but you didn't answer the calls or even reply to my email to arrange a site inspection. How would you be able to coordinate if you did NOT even answer my call or reply to my email? 5) What so special about your business? Other contractors can schedule with my property manager and tenants to do a quotation. Why can't you? They only made one phone call and this was sorted. Did you even try to arrange? Never say never before even trying. Or tell me a reason why other contractors can get through but NOT you? 6) LOTS OF LIES from this business. POOR COMMUNICATION. If you don't have the capacity to take the business, just admit and tell me honestly so that I don't have to keep chasing! You were my top choice and I would have let you start the job immediately and I had been waiting for your quote for more than 2 weeks! BUT YOU DIDN'T REPLY TO MY EMAIL OR CALL!? Don't use 1000 excuses to blame it on me. SO UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE.
